Latest Updates from Our Project:
Double Bogey and Estimates

Hey everyone,
My apologies that things are taking so long. Turns out juggling multiple projects is harder than actually juggling (which I can do now!)
We're still in the layout phase and are aiming to get orders fulfilled by February.
The next few weeks are going to be a mixture of Golf Quest and For Small Creatures Such As We work interspersed with Yule shopping and the inevitable stress that brings.
I will let you know the moment the print-at-home version is available and will be back with more news in a couple of weeks when there's more to talk about.
Best,
Anna
Bump In The Road

Hey everyone,
While we're so close to being finished, things have slowed a bit. My partner and I started a full time circus course in the middle of September and trying to juggle (ba-dum-tiss) multiple projects with such intense physical activity is hard. And to make matters worse, my partner/ the artist for Golf Quest got bitten by a dog last week and can't draw. We'll do our best to get the game out as soon as we can but right now that deadline is up in the air.
To give you an idea of where we're at, the book is about 100 pages. Most of that is taken up by the various Holes you'll be golfing on and the Dungeon Variants for each Locale (9 in total).
Each Hole looks something like this albeit the Layout is unfinished and some information is missing. We're trying to work out what else we can consistently fit in such as Rival Events to add to the roleplaying of the game and still need to include info like Par.
We've also been working on the Clubhouse side of things and including things like Clubhouse Events which provide scene prompts for you and the other players or for you to write about in solo play. These can be things like:
Ten The Tournament Commentator asks you what your nickname is and what a Rival’s nickname is. What nickname do you give yourself? What nickname do you give a Rival?
Ace Oh no! The Clubhouse is out of money and if they can’t raise the required amount, the mayor will cancel the tournament and bulldoze the Clubhouse to build a stupid bird sanctuary. Altogether you have to raise XXX Silver before the last Hole or everybody loses!
Three There’s a book launch happening in the Clubhouse but oh no, it’s an unofficial scathing biography of all the golfers! What terrible things does the book say about you and each of the other golfers? Everyone Loses XX Social Credit. Who wrote it?
Or you can Explore the depths of the Clubhouse and find events like:
Nine You find what looks like a wet golfbag in the centre of a moist dark room. As you approach, it opens and lets out a freshly hatched Caddy! It is your responsibility now. What do you name it? What does it look like? Gain a Caddy (pg XX).
Oh, and we've decided to re-do the Rivals so that they better fit the art style in the rest of the book. Of course, all of them will be romanceable or may even romance each other and make fun of you, who knows how your Tournament will unfold!
These are just some of the Rivals, who is your favourite?
Thanks again for your support and sorry for the delays!

Art We There Yet?

Good news everyone! We now have the art for all 27 Holes complete and are steadily working through the 9 dungeon variants which will see you battling bosses and pests with your trusty putter!
All that's left now is to get everything into layout, get a cover and the rival art, make some spot art to jazz up the rules pages, and get it printed!
At this rate, we should have digital copies available in October and print copies hopefully not long after that!
There are a few of you who haven't filled out your Backerkit surveys yet. You should have a reminder email now :)
I'll charge cards for shipping at the end of September so please double check your addresses between now and then and let me know if you need to change your address or any other details.
Thanks,
Anna
Golf Quest Progress Update
– Tue, Jul 30, 2024 at 03:51:59 AM
Hey everyone,
Sorry for the radio silence over the past 2 months, things have been really busy at Blackwell HQ and every time I've tried to write this update, the Kickstarter Update editor has s*&t the bed and deleted everything.
Right now we've got 5 Holes left to make which will bring us to a grand total of 27 spread across the 9 Locales from Apothecaria. We've just got 2 Village Holes and 3 Strange Holes left to go.
After that, we've just got to finish up the layout, get new art commissioned for your Rivals, get a Cover, and finish off the Dungeon Variants which will be remixed versions of some Holes but with monsters to defeat!
Above is one of the Cloud Isles Holes that's just been finished up. Each Holewill have a sheet beside it that tells you the Par, how many Strokes each Rival takes, and what the various mechanics for that hole are. In this case, you have to aim for the start of the rainbow and whichever colour your Stroke crosses first is the one your shot will travel along!
Again, I'm so sorry this has taken so long. Trying to juggle 2 Kickstarters, life, and other work is really hard and I appreciate your patience so much. We will be opening up Backerkit during August to collect shipping and should, hopefully, be ready to ship by the start of October.
Thanks again for your support and I'll make another update at the end of August.
Best,
Anna
May Progress Update
– Thu, May 23, 2024 at 04:11:48 AM
Hey everyone,
We're finally onto the layout stage of development and I'm really pleased with how the book is coming together. At this point we're experimenting to see what would work best between a single rulesheet for each Locale's selection of Holes e.g. 1 rulesheet detailing how all of the Hero's Hollow Holes work. Or pairing each Hole up with its own rulesheet. The latter of course is clearer but requires more printing.
At this point I think we're about 70% done. We've got a few more Holes to do, we need a cover, and I need to commission some new character art and other spot art for the book as well as finish the layout.
I appreciate that this project has taken a lot longer than expected and I'm realy grateful for your patience. Once we've got a definite deadline in sight, we'll let you know.
Until then, once we've finalised the layout we'll put together a print friendly PDF version which will be updated with the remaining Holes once they're finished.
Finally, for those of you who haven't filled out the Backerkit survey, please do as soon as you can to ensure there's no issues in getting your rewards.
